  • Brian Bartley

    DESIGNER + PARTNER

    Brian Bartley is a seasoned lighting and spatial designer with over 20 years of experience creating transformative environments in residential, hospitality, and commercial. Beginning his career as a landscape designer and a background in photography, Brian brings a unique eye for composition, light, and form to every project he touches.

    His work blends technical mastery with artistry, shaping interiors and experiences that are both visually striking and deeply functional. At Studio VAL, Brian leads design projects that explore the interplay of light, material, and space, elevating each environment with thoughtful, intentional illumination.

    A lifelong explorer of visual storytelling, Brian draws inspiration from nature, travel, and the way light interacts with architecture — crafting spaces that are both experiential and personal.

  • Hanna Finch

    DESIGNER + PARTNER

    Hanna Finch bridges the worlds of lighting and interior design to create spaces that are both emotionally resonant and highly functional. A Certified Interior Designer with more than a decade of experience in lighting design, sales, and technical application, she brings a refined balance of creativity and precision to every project.

    Hanna holds a B.S. in Interior Design with Honors from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, is NCIDQ Certified, a member of the American Lighting Association (ALA), and a Past President of ASID Tennessee. She’s also an active supporter of Designers for Dogs, combining her love for design with her passion for giving back.

    A Nashville native, Hanna enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her husband and their two dogs.

  • Jaki Capozzoli

    MANAGING PARTNER + GALLERIST

    Jaki Capozzoli is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and brand strategist from Chicago, IL who brings over a decade of creative leadership to VAL. As Managing Partner, she oversees the studio’s operations, finance, marketing, and creative vision, ensuring every project reflects the firm’s commitment to thoughtful, immersive design. 

    Prior to VAL, Jaki spent ten years in Los Angeles building brands from the ground up across fashion, wellness, and consumer goods — shaping visual identities, product design, photo and video content, and digital experiences.

    As a visual artist with a B.F.A., Jaki approaches every project through the lens of composition and emotion, blending creativity with strategic thinking to create environments and experiences that feel intentional and alive. She also loves to travel, hike, and practice yoga.
